In early 2026, the Cowichan Regional Valley District (CVRD) was the focus of a an attempt to remove farmer’s rights in a new OCP pushing a development agenda in rural areas. That attempt was averted, by mass public opposition.

Although the focus of CRD Watch is in the CRD, it is also important to keep an eye on what is happening in our neighbouring regional district.
