Lobbying influence has been going mostly under the table in regard to the City of Victoria for many years, despite having a very powerful presence with the City.
As the summer of 2025 drew to a close, with Victoria’s new OCP update to take place on Sept 11, 2025, lobbying influence became front and centre during City of Victoria deliberations in regard to lobbying influence with the city and a lack of transparency surrounding it (not well covered by the media of course).
In one week (from Sept 4 to Sept 11) 4 motions on lobbying and transparency all of which deserve further scrutiny.
