Bill M216 the ‘Professional Reliance Act’ is defeated.

Since the proposal of the controversial Bill, CRD Watch on Vancouver Island and CityHallWatch in Vancouver has followed, covered and exposed the issue and what is at stake closely, while most of the media turned a blind eye to it.

The Bill was initially supported by Strong Towns, a lobbying organization based in the United States via its Nanaimo branch, followed by the UDI other business lobbies, and various YIMBY groups e.g. Homes For Living.

Opposition to the bill was very strong from many quarters.
