Today is Boxing Day. As such, it is appropriate to write an article about, well boxing.

Recently I wrote the following articles:

BC Housing’s out of control spending spree: $82,249 spent in only 3 and a half years, on costs related to a single lobby for real estate and development. – CRD Watch Homepage

$10,000 a pop, and VIP Tables included: how BC Housing has been funnelling taxpayer money ($62,500 in less than 5 years) into the UDI, a registered lobbying organization for development and real estate, through $10K sponsorship agreements. – CRD Watch Homepage

Over $10,000 given away to students: The Business of the Founder of the UVic Real Estate Club – CRD Watch Homepage

Now courtesy of a costly FOI response from BC Housing, it is now clear that a BC Housing employee attended a UDI boxing class/networking activity and charged it to the taxpayer:

The UDI is a registered lobbying organization on the BC Lobbyists Registry. The UDI represents billions of dollars of corporate interests in real estate and development, as they seek to influence all levels of government on housing policy.

BC Housing is a paying member of the UDI.

Why did a BC Housing employee charge a development lobby boxing class to the taxpayer?
