The City of Victoria has been providing some strange responses in regard to a recent FOI response from the City that I wrote about in the following articles:

Plane Flights and Helijets, where taxpayer dollars go from the City of Victoria, for Development Lobby Events – CRD Watch Homepage

An Expensive Party: Victoria Employee flew to Nashville and back, to hang out with developers at their “Social Event”. Cost to the taxpayer: almost $2000 – CRD Watch Homepage

In the latter article I pointed out some anomalies regarding potentially missing information from the FOI response.

This is not unusual.

A recent FOI request that I made regarding the City of Victoria’s liaison committee meetings with the urban development institute lobby, turned up later records that were not included in the original FOI response from the City that should have been.

The dialogue:

On Nov 18 2025, I received the City of Victoria’s FOI response regarding the costs of City Staff attending UDI events.

The following day on Nov 19, 2025 I replied to the City’s FOI department:

Thank you for the response.

What UDI event was the use of the helijet for City of Victoria staff for?

A couple hours later, I received an answer to my question:

Good Morning:

Some copies of physical invoices could not be located; however, they can still be tracked in the City’s accounting software, hence why they are listed in the report.

If you have any questions regarding the specifics of conferences, please contact the relevant department directly.
